A sweet, sweet friend of mine is raising money for their adoption of an Ethiopian waiting child.

Her are the details, in her words:

Hello friends,

I'm writing to tell you about our EASTER ADVENT ACTIVITY BOOK and ask you to pass along the word to your friends. It's so easy for me to get lost in the holidays, losing site of the true meaning of them. This is the reason Shane and I wrote this EASTER ADVENT ACTIVITY BOOK . It helps us focus on Christ and point the kids to His divine nature and purpose. It is the compliment to the Christmas Advent Activity Book we sold last December.

(Below) you will find a sample of this Easter book. We are selling them for $12.00 each, to raise money for our adoption and general orphan care. ALL PROCEEDS go to these causes. Our adoption is from Ethiopia, for a waiting child. And the ongoing orphan care will be devoted to the children of Haiti.

This Activity Book begins April 3rd (the Friday prior to Palm Sunday) and goes through April 12th, Easter Day. Each of the 10 days has a simple, scripted reading, complete with scriptures and activities. At the beginning of the book is a list of any items needed to complete the activities.

The book is an 8 1/2 x 11 "perfect bound" paper back, soft cover booklet. It is colored on the cover, with black and white print and simple illustrations on the 24 inside pages.

I'll begin sending out shipments on March 16th.
I'll respond to you with the amount you owe, and where to send the check.

INTRODUCTION

“Sing to God, sing praise to his name…
his name is the LORD…”

This book was originally written in effort to focus our children on the Easter Lamb, rather than the Easter Bunny. We enjoy family traditions and rituals that began right in our own home. This book has become one of those traditions. Our kids still enjoy the activities and lessons, year after year. And I, personally, appreciate the time to focus on who Christ is during this amazing celebration of His Resurrection.

The book is now being printed to help raise money for our adoption, and the greater cause of orphan care. We have begun the process to adopt a Waiting Child from Ethiopia., and hope to support missions to orphans in Haiti with revenue from this book, as well as the companion Christmas Advent Book.

“Names of Jesus” is the title and focus of this activity book which begin10 days before Easter. There is one reading (a lesson and an activity) for each of the 10 days.

On the next page you will find a list of supplies you will need to gather before you begin; following that, you will find a sample day.

I hope this is a fun and focused time for you and your little ones that will bring you closer together, as well as closer to His nail-pierced hands and feet.

I love this quote. This quote stirs me. It drives me to action. It has caused me to ask myself, 'what do I LOVE to do and how can I use that to meet the needs that are so present in our world today?'

Thus, this blog begins. As I've talked this over with a my hubby, and a few other of my closest friends, I've decided to start this blog. The plan is to get together once a month and create something crafty. Then sell it. And donate all the profits to charity. Please pass it on, and come along for the ride!
